Home

Pilot Club of Lancaster, Inc. is affiliated with Pilot International.

Pilot members are business and professional leaders who share a common trait, the desire to help people in need and to make the world a better place to live.

Pilot International was founded in 1921 as a volunteer service organization.  The historic inspiration for the name was the riverboat pilot who would steer a true course through calm or troubled waters.

Thus, the motto, "True Course Ever."

~The ABC's of Pilot~

A

Anchor Clubs (Youth Development & Leadership)

The Executive Committee of Pilot International has formally approved that Pilot International be fully committed to the promotion and encouragement of Youth Development & Leadership, especially through our Anchor Clubs. Pilot International is committed to providing all the resources and tools

work in this area.

B

Brain Safety & Fitness

Since 1992, Pilot International has worked in the area of brain-related service. Based upon the results of the 2012 Strategic Planning Survey, the Executive Committee of Pilot International has approved that Pilot formally narrow its focus to “Brain Safety & Fitness,” as the majority of our clubs do service the second week of November as “International Care & Kindness Week.”

C

Caring for Families in Times of Need

Pilot International is fully committed to championing projects that celebrate and support Family Caregivers of all kinds. Based upon the results of the 2012 Strategic Planning Survey, the Executive Committee of Pilot International identified an overwhelming interest in supporting Family Caregivers and in response has formally approved the creation of an original philanthropic endeavor to be called “Pick Me Ups.” The objective of the “Pick Me Ups” initiative is to promote awareness of the unique needs of Family Caregivers of all kinds. Pilot International has also been instrumental in establishing the second week of November as “International Care & Kindness Week.”

What We Do

The Club sponsors an Anchor Club at the Hempfield High School in Landisville. Hempfield Anchors can receive sponsorships to participate in Freedoms Foundation in Valley Forge and attend Pilot International’s Anchor Summit.  Scholarships are offered to Anchors furthering their education after high school.

Hundreds of Lancaster County children participate in BrainMinders program annually.

With the help of West Hempfield Township Police Department and Chief Mark Pugliese, Project Lifesaver became a reality in Lancaster’s Northwest zone in 2012. West Lampeter Township Police Department followed in 2013.

The Pilot Club of Lancaster has been involved with  many local organizations, such as Aaron’s Acres, ConKerr Pillowcases, Meals on Wheels, Milagro House, Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center, The Long Community at Highland, and local food banks.
